Spiritual Life
VCA believes that the development of a spiritual life in each student is of the utmost importance. It begins with the understanding that God loves us and desires a personal relationship with us.
While faith begins at home and is nurtured at church, we recognize the important role that our Christian school community plays in our students' spiritual journey.
Our Christ-centered approach to education develops the whole child to know, love, and serve God. Faith is woven through chapels and also in science class discussion about the complexity of God's creation. We understand art and music as reflections of our creator God. We honor God with our bodies by pursuing excellence on the athletic field. Most importantly, we focus on treating each other with care and respect as fellow image-bearers of Jesus Christ.
We are a community that strives to bring honor and glory to God in all that we do.
CHAPEL:
Chapel at VCA engages students in a time of encouragement and teaching from God's Word. VCA desires all students to grow in their spiritual walk personally and as a community. It provides powerful, challenging, and thought-provoking messages. Chapels feature student worship teams, and in addition to our own ministry leadership, may feature speakers from local churches, classroom-led drama and songs, personal testimonies, service projects, and student or faculty-led prayer.
Three chapels are held weekly for all students and are a required part of their weekly academic schedule each Friday. Preschool and kindergarten, elementary, and middle/high school are the three chapels. Parents are welcome to join us.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
VCA has a student-led high school worship team that practices, leads, and runs the chapel music service for all grades on campus. These students use their gifts of playing musical instruments and singing. The team strives to achieve through musical leadership the development of musicality, artistry, spirituality, and intellectual growth. Furthermore, it is our foremost priority to spread the Good News and carry out the mission God has set before us. We do this through purposefully performing in chapel and whenever asked to perform at other functions, building a strong foundation of faith, friendship, and school pride for VCA through Christian music.
